With strings from above, the Marionette Suite will entice the imagination as Sandpiper Records 45th release! Composed for plugged-in violin & piano, the ‘character’ portrays a unique story in three poetically twisted and self-revealing movements. The 1st movement, Allegro Moderato, flows with surprising counter rhythms, jazzy flavor & free improv. Grave, the minimalist 2nd movement pulls long lines with few notes and dark shades of expression. The tense energy of the 3rd movement Presto moves sharply and contrasts only two themes. Julianna Waller becomes the puppeteer and brings life to the suite.
